Jaffa is born in the middle of cold winter,
as most of Basenji pups. And still in the middle of coldest winter we went
to pick this little baby up, at the end of february. She is the cutest you
could only imagine and no money in the world could buy her!
I picked the most outgoing pup with the little devil glimps. Jaffa was the leader with a whole bunch of sisters behind her. My older Basenji was never very playful so this time around it was to be the oppposite! You can believe that got what I asked for! Already when we arrived home I realised that this puppy could be off leash. The Rabbits was alredy on her mind... |

As a young pup Jaffa was very succesful in the showring and she won BOB, BIG-2, BIS-4 and Best In Show. She also had the Best Red/White Coat at the Specialty in 1998. |

Jaffa is the lightning personified! We have
tried Lure Coursing a couple of times and it's a joy to watch her stretch
out in full reach. I hope that LC will be as popular here in Sweden as in so
many other countries and that the Basenji also gets their chance to compete
in the future.
Her pet name Wabbit Killer comes from her great ability to chase down and catch rabbits. She is also a great retriever and leaves the catch right in front of my feets and then I have the chance to rescue them. |

Jaffa is a sweet and friendly Basenji that would never do anything to hurt anyone. I decided to breed Jaffa as she had this wonderful temperament, something that not every Basenji can brag about. This fantastic temperament had to be reproduced and still to this day I can't recall anything evil that Jaffa's ever done. Well, as a puppy she did eat our wall paper in the living room. Something I was told her sister litter sister did too. But that's no biggie and nothing to do with temperament really and you can always redo the walls, right?! |

Even though Jaffa was succesful in the show
rings as a puppy she was more than 3 years old when she debuted in the
officiall classes. And she did is with a bang! 3 shows (KC) has resulted in
3 CC's, 3 BOB's, 2 Cacib's, BIG-2 and BIG-1. And a champion title of course!! After several attempts Jaffa finally became pregnant Fall 2003 and her puppies where born New Years Eve 2004. Two girls and one boy, read more about them here. Her kids have had great success in the showrings and most of the times Jaffa tagged along just to keep them company, but she wouldn't settle for that. Oh no, she wanted to be in the ring real bad so we started to enter her in the veteran classes just for fun. That resulted in an amazing show carrier in her old days where she, for example, went BOS and a new champion at the Norwegian Specialty, BIS Veteran at the Swedish Specialty, Best In Show Veteran at KC Sofiero Int. show and she also qualified for the prestigious show Veterans of Veterans at Grand Hotell in Stockholm. |

| Little snuggle bun Jaffa is the most affectionate dog I have ever owned and even met, as soon as you sit down she is right in your lap. If you're not fast enough to cuddle her she scratches her feet all over you. And with age she also, of course, has gotten wiser so she knows exactly how to fool us so she can get her dinner an extra time. She tucks her tummy in and manages to pull a teardrop in her eye and we get tricked again... Not once have we ever forgotten to feed her neither breakfast nor her evening meal, but she still fools us wtih her gentle, velvet eyes. |
